It’s TIME!!! Time to ring out the old and bring in the new! :D Don’t you just love New Year’s?? You can kiss the mistakes of the last year goodbye and welcome a clean slate.

As I’ve said before, I never make resolutions. No way am I setting myself up for failure from the get go. ;) BUT here are some of the things that I want to do more of in the new year.

SEWING –  It’s been 2 LOOOOONG months since I have sat at my sewing machine. That’s 2 months too long. I have GOT to figure out a way to unpack my sewing stuff in this tiny house!! We are only supposed to be here a few months (until the rental agent finds us a bigger place) but I am going through some heavy withdrawals already!!! LOL

CRAFTING – It has been forever since I made anything. ARGH!!!! I need my creative outlets!! I’ll go starkers!!!

READING –  I used to set myself reading challenges at the beginning of each year. It’s been a couple of years since I have done that. Just not enough time. SIGH…. BUT I am planning a couple of different challenges for 2014. One is the Alphabet Soup Challenge made by Escape With Dollycas Into a Good Book.  You can check my page for it out HERE.

The other challenge is to read 100 books. That used to be NOTHING to me. I could read 3 books a week. AHHH, those were the days.

I’ll be keeping up with that challenge over at Goodreads. You can click the Goodreads widget over on the right side. I think it will take you to my books.

Now, on to the Top 10 Posts of 2013!!!

It’s about that time!!! Even though we homeschool, we still need to get ready for that time of year. For some school starts NEXT WEEK!! CRAZY!!! Thankfully, as a homeschooler, we can decide when our school year is as long as we have 180 days! And I don’t plan on starting for at least a few more weeks, probably not until after Labor Day!!!

Anyway, I have had school stuff on the mind lately and I want to make a lot of stuff for the kids this year.

Thinking of Thanking AND Crafts, Recipes and Cool Stuff

I was thinking today that I have a lot to be thankful for this year. SOOOO SOOOO SOOOOO MUCH!!! I thought that it would be good to list a few of the things that I am MOST thankful.

1- A Loving Heavenly Father

2- A Wonderful Savior

3- The Hubby and the kids

4- My extended family

5- A wonderfully loving church family, especially Momma Hope.

6- The Hubby’s new job

7- My new found sewing “skills” (such as they are)

8- My AWESOME readers

9- Packers so I don’t have to pack a thing

10- Pain killers because my tooth is acting up again

And since I am thinking of thanking, that leads me to Thanksgiving! Right around the corner!!!! I thought that I would dig through my Pinterest boards and see what wonderful goodies are lurking in there for this special holiday.

Here we go!

This list shares some of our favorite kids books to look at and read this time of year. Be sure to take the list with you to the library or book store next time you go! #Thanksgiving

McCall’s 6467 and Upcoming Tutorials

I have been working on the McCall’s 6467 but I have hit a brick wall. I need more bias tape!! And I am so sunburned that I can’t even wear regular clothes so I can’t go to the store! Let’s just say that I have been celebrating No Bra Day for the past 3 days….LOL The seat belt is a real problem for me…. You see, I couldn’t quite stay out of the pool yesterday or today… I know, I know… Stupid move… But I LOVE the water!! And I wore a t-shirt and gobbed on the sunblock….. Yeah, it didn’t help much. I now have a blistered face and one hand. SIGH….. Will it keep me out of the water??? Probably not. LOL

Anyway, here is where I stand with the McCall’s 6467-

Dang, 3 yards of bias tape doesn’t go very far does it?? LOL I think it’s really helping the look of the blouse, though. The Hubby thought I was making a nightie…. LOL He says the bias tape makes look more like a blouse. ;)

Soooo, since I can’t work on the blouse I figured I would work on a couple of tutorials for y’all. ;) Here are the fabrics that I put together. I have a plan for each set but I can’t figure out which one I want to do first!
