My prompt :

10 years after your death, a person finds a collection of your writing in a thrift store. For some reason, a friend of yours or perhaps a stalker compiled blog posts, facebook updates, short stories, poems….anything you write…into a book, and that book ended up, mistakenly or otherwise, in a donation box. What would you hope this friend of yours included in this compilation? What would you hope the person who buys and reads it would gather about you, about the world, and about himself or herself?

It was submitted by: http://climaxedtheblog.blogspot.com

*****************************************************************************************************

I think that video really sums up the way I want people to think of me when I’m gone.

Remember the good things and leave out all the rest.

I would hope that the book included any time that I made someone happy. Anytime that I made them smile or feel good about themselves. Anytime that I was helpful.

I hope that it would leave out the times I was short tempered or selfish. Anytime that I snapped at someone or was rude.

None of those terrible poems I wrote in high school!!! YEESH!!! What was I thinking??

None of the letters I wrote to my cousin! LOL There’s no telling the crazy things I wrote. Although Amy could probably still tell you all about them! 😉

None of those silly notes I wrote in school and folded into a thousand different shapes.  (Can you say EMBARRASSING???)

I would want people to feel good reading it. Good about themselves. See that the world is still a good place, filled with good people.

Valentines Day

My subject is, If you had the chance, would you go to an ANTI VALENTINES DAY party and why?  It was submitted byhttp://dates2diapers2.blogspot.com   .

Here goes:

Would I??? WOULD I??? You bet ya!!!!!!! Why???? Well, let me fill you in on that.

SIGH………………..

You would think that being a married person would mean that Valentine’s Day would never suck again. And if you thought that way, you would be WRONG!!! Oh, so WRONG!!!!!

I have married a very practical, very unromantic man. I can count on one hand the number of romantic things he has done in the almost 22 years we have been a couple. SIGH…….

One year he even said, “But I thought Valentine’s Day was just for kids.”

Yes, people, I did let him live but it was  Very Close Thing.

At least if I went an Anti Valentine’s Day Party, I would be around people that know how I feel! They would “get me”. We could sit around and dis stupid St Valentine and Cupid until we felt better!

We could knock back a few drinks and play “Shoot Cupid with an Arrow” (like “Pin the Tail on the Donkey” only way more violent).

Yeah, that sounds like FUN!!!!

We could take a page from “Valentine’s Day” and beat the heck out of a large, heart-shaped pinata!

Sounds like a good time to me!!!!

Now, before we all go and beat the snot out of The Hubby, I will tell you the most romantic thing he ever did.

It was Valentine’s Day 2003. A few weeks before I had had life saving surgery. My gall bladder was sooooo bad that the doc said I would not have made it past the weekend (this is a whole other story where I rant and rave about our health care system).

The Hubby suggests that I call my Dad and see if they will babysit the kids that night. It was YUCKY out. I wasn’t really feeling it but I agreed to call anyway. (Little did I know that he had prearranged this with my Dad.) Then I set out to take the kids to Dad’s.

When I got back the house was empty! Hmmm… WTH??? Then I noticed a little box tacked to wall. WTH???

I opened the box and found a note. The note said to “go next door”.

I went to his friend’s house next door and he had another box for me. That one said “go to Kim’s work”.

I went to the store that my friend Kim worked at and she had another box for me. That one said “go to my work and look under the sink in the break room”.

So off I go. I get to The Hubby’s work and found ANOTHER box. This one said “Hampton Inn room 223”.

I get there and knock on the door. The Hubby opens it and he actually had FLOWERS and CANDY and a stuffed BEAR!!!!

Who are you and what did you do with my husband????

It was the best Valentine’s Day I have ever had.

SIGH…..

Maybe I should remind him of this???

SIGH……

Now, don’t forget to check out the amazing bloggers who are sure to be MUCH more entertaining than I am!

If I could spend a day with my fifteen year old self I would……

It was submitted by:

http://xcartwight.blogspot.com

Pic of me at 15

That is me at 15. This is the only picture I have of myself at that age but it’s the perfect one. I have on my very favorite t-shirt (Guns N Roses) and my very favorite jeans.

I have been thinking long and hard about this post ever since I received my prompt. Do I tell it like it was? Do I just make something up? Will I tick off my family if I DO tell it the way it was?

Well, here it goes, regardless.

I was such a mess at 15. My life was a mess at 15. Everything seemed to be spiraling out of control.

My mom was an alcoholic. My dad was pretty much absent and had just remarried. I was supposed to have been in the wedding but no one showed up to get me. I didn’t even get a phone call saying they couldn’t come. Just me sitting with my bags packed, waiting.

And people wondered why my head wasn’t on straight.  I was made to feel as if there was something tragically wrong with me because of the way I reacted to my situation in life. Yes, I was wild. Yes, I was out of control. I was 15 and in situations no one should ever have to go through. No one, no matter what age.

So, what would I do if I spent the day with my 15 year old self? I would hug me. And hug me and hug me. I would tell me that everything was really and truly going to be OK. That I would make it out with my sanity intact. That even though it didn’t feel that way at the time, there really were people that loved and cared about me. That I mattered. That my parents were human and also dealing with issues. I don’t believe either of them ever meant to hurt me. I know now that they both loved me, they just couldn’t see past their own issues. I would tell my 15 year old self to cut them some slack.

Oh, my gosh… Am I really going to post this? I don’t know….. I just don’t know….

I guess I could make up some drivel about how much fun I would have with my 15 year old self…. But that wouldn’t be true. That wouldn’t be me.

So that part of me that is still 15, that still feels that hurt –

I love you. You matter.

Oh, gosh! I think I’m actually going to hit the schedule button.

What was your favorite thing to imagine as a child?

It was submitted by: dates2diapers2.blogspot.com

I was an only child so I had LOTS of time to play by myself. Most of that time was spent in imaginary worlds. When I got the chance to play with my cousins, I would try to drag them into those worlds as well.

The very first thing that I can remember ever imagining on a regular basis  was WONDER WOMAN!!! Complete with Underoos and yellow jump rope!

(pic from Wikipedia)

No one else was allowed to be Wonder Woman. *I* was Wonder Woman!!!!!

Now, tell the truth! Nothing but the truth!!

I was also obsessed with Charlie’s Angels. I wanted to be Sabrina!!

(Wikipedia)

For my 4th Birthday I received a Sabrina doll and I was in HEAVEN!!!!!

Then I discovered reading……. I became Laura Ingalls! My cousin and I were ALWAYS arguing over who got to be Laura. Neither of us wanted to be that goody-two-shoes Mary. Although, our behavior was more reminiscent of Nelly.

In between I was Clara Barton or Amelia Earhart. Whatever book I was reading at the time. Although, I always went back to either Wonder Woman or Laura Ingalls.

All in all I think I see a pattern here. LOL I wanted to be a strong woman. Most of them are easy to see but if you think about it, living on the prairie and putting up with Nelly wasn’t easy! 😉

PLEASE, go check out all the amazing posts!!!!!

WOW! This is a tough one. I have been thinking and thinking and thinking about this since I received the prompt. My “job” is being Mommy and it’s really the only job I want.  But since we are talking alternate universes here, I would like to be an  Aid Worker.  Not glamorous at all but in my alternate universe I would be able to withstand all the hardships these people have to face in order to bring the help that so many need. I would have all the resources needed at my disposal. I would make huge leaps in eliminating world hunger. Might as well dream BIG!!!!

I kept trying to work up something funny about how I wanted to be the next Coco Chanel but this kept coming back and screaming at me. It wanted out and wasn’t letting anything else get close!

So, give if you can!! If you can’t give, spread the word so others can!

My subject is “ When was the last time you felt “left out” of something? How did you deal with it?”.  It was submitted by  http://followmehome.shellybean.com .  Here goes:

WOW! This was a hard one. I thought and thought and thought about it. I started to get nervous… Would I ever come up with something?? I don’t usually feel left out of anything. If I want in, I just, well, go in. I have a speak before I think, leap before I look personality. LOL

Then it hit me. My birthday. Yep, my birthday. You may wonder how someone can feel left out when it’s THEIR birthday! Well, let me explain it to you. 😉

You see, Cailey and Colin both have birthdays around mine. Cailey’s is the 23rd and Colin’s is the 31st. We usually end up having their birthday parties ON my birthday. LOL Not sure how that keeps happening…. It’s not that I mind sharing, not at all, but it would be nice to get my own cake every other year or so. And let’s face it, even 3 birthdays cakes at the same time will NOT go to waste in this house.

Now, how do I deal with it? Well, that’s simple. I don’t. I don’t say a word, I don’t do a thing. I just keep calm and eat their cakes. 😉

It’s not like The Hubby or any of the kids read my blog, so I don’t have to worry about them feeling bad for me feeling left out. I could pretty much say ANYTHING here and they would never even know.

Muahahaha Evil Laugh Cat

Next year is a big year. It has a 4 and a 0. Yep! I’ll be 04 years old! 😉 And since it’s a big one, I might just get myself a cake.

Maybe one like this –

Owl Birthday Cake - Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting & Rolled Fondant

from – Talking Thirty

Or maybe like this –

From – With Love and Confection

As long as it’s chocolate it will do! LOL

The Hubby made me a cake one year. I have to admit, I was scared, but it was actually very good. Another year, Joshua and Deanna made me one. They did an excellent job.  There is one year I will never forget! I was turning 21 and The Hubby got me a cow cake (I love cows). We were having my party over at his buddy’s house and before I could even blow out the candles the cake was ruined. A food fight!! With my birthday cake!!!

You know, if that’s the only thing I can come up with, I feel pretty darn blessed.  Let’s face it, in this world if the only thing you feel left out of is birthday cake, you’re pretty lucky.

Don’t forget to check out all the AMAZING bloggers that take part in the Secret Subject Swaps!!! Karen (Baking in a Tornado) is SOOOOO FREAKIN’ AWESOME for putting this together for us!!!

What is your oldest piece of clothing, does it still fit, and why do you still have it?

It was submitted by: The Most Awesome, the Queen of Secret Subjects and Flies…..  Karen from Baking in a Tornado

At first I was stumped. I have been pregnant 5 TIMES!! My weight has been up and down and up and down. I change sizes more than the kids change channels… Then I thought, well, I have some shoes I’ve had for a while. But even those I give away after a few years…. Hmmm… Then it hit me. There’s one item of clothing that I have had for 20 YEARS!! Yes! 20 YEARS!!!!

Mountaineers 006

My WVU Mountaineers Football jersey!!!! It still fits (just not as loosely as it once did) and I wear it a ton during football season. 😉

This jersey has seen some up and downs… Some wins and some loses….. Some players and coaches come and go…. It has seen A LOT!!!

Hmmm… maybe IT should do the Fly on the Wall. LOL

Speaking of gaining and losing weight (I think this fits with the topic). I have been back on the Atkins Diet for 2 wks now and I am down 9 lbs!!! YIPPPPEEE!!!!!!!

I am done with the meds that make me gain weight. I am done with the birth control methods that make me gain weight. I am done with eating my feelings!!!!  I am taking control of my body again!!! I managed to have 3 kids without adding more than 10 lbs. After I had Deanna I was on the Depo Provera shots for a year. I gained more in that year than I ever did while pregnant with the kids. I went off it after that. It had completely messed up my system and doctors thought that I would never be able to get pregnant again. HA! Thankfully they were wrong! 7 years later I had Cailey. After I had her I went on Atkins and lost 45 lbs in 3 months. I managed to keep it all off until I got pregnant with Colin. Now, I had my tubes tied AFTER having Cailey. No, I didn’t have it reversed…. So, after I had Colin, it would have been a more intense surgery for them to try to tie them again. Instead of going through all of that I used the Mirena….. BIG MISTAKE!!!! It happens that anything that disrupts my monthly… ummm… visitor, also makes me gain weight. Fun. Add on top of that the fibromyalgia, depression, and medications and you have a major weight gain.  More fun… I’m not nearly brave enough to say just how much weight I gained… Maybe one day once I can put all of  this behind me… I am still entirely too vain to put it out there. LOL But I’m trying very hard and it’s a lot of work. Don’t ever let anyone tell you that it isn’t. It’s an uphill battle all the way.  I don’t know if this will ultimately have anything to do with the fibro but it sure couldn’t hurt.

Wish me luck!! Send prayers!!!

Shew! It feels good to get some of that off my chest. 😉

Now for some smiles to lighten the mood!

WOW!!! I won a trip!!! SOOOOO COOOOOOL!!!!! The Hubby and I have NEVER been on a real vacation. NEVER!!!! We taken a day trip here and there but that is it. :/

I LOOOOVE to travel to new places. I LOOOOOVE seeing new things.

My absolute DREAM trip would be a couple of months visiting pretty much every European nation. I would see absolutely everything that I could. Castles, historical sites, villages, big cities. EVERYTHING!!!!!

I hope this trip comes with some money, too… I would want TONS of souvenirs!!! And not the cheap touristy stuff!!!!! 😉

AND I would take the whole family. Yes, I do dream of getting away for a bit without the kids but I know myself… I wouldn’t have as good a time without them as I would have experiencing everything with them.

I think I will go be depressed now. There’s no way my dream vacation will EVER happen. Well, unless I win the lottery… but that would mean I would have to actually play the lottery…. LOL

OK, you know this was an easy one for me!! LOL My favorite books of ALLLLLLL time have to be the Harry Potter books!!! That series, to me, is the most magical (no pun intended) (OK, maybe the pun was intended) series that I have ever read. You are transported to a fantastical place where anything is possible. That is why I read! I read to be transported from my daily life to someplace else and no other series does it better.

I just recently reread the series for the I don’t know what time. 10th maybe?? Something like that anyway. SIGH… I wish it could go on forever!!!!!

HP is more than just a children’s series. It is actually very deep, very moving, very thought provoking!

Now, that being said, I did quite mad at JK Rowling over the last book…. I won’t say anything more specific just in case someone out there hasn’t read them and plans on it in the future. BUT, if you have read them you know what I mean! ARGH!!!!!!!

So, if I could make JK Rowling write more HPs, I would want to know more about Dumbledore! You just can’t write all that stuff about him and not elaborate!! LOL I want DETAILS!!!!

AND I would not be adverse to books about James and Lily! Tell us EVERYTHING!!! PLEASE!!!!!

Or how about Harry’s kids?? There’s a lot that can be told there, too!

I just want MORE!!! More Harry Potter!! More of that world!!!!
