Mozart – Resources for a Unit Study

mozart

I am finally adding some music resources on here! LOL We “do” music all the time but we more or less just listen and discuss. Every once in a while we might do like we did with The Nutcracker and I will have them paint or draw how the music makes them feel or what it makes them think of.

This will be just the first of many art and music unit study resources that I will do here. I have Jackson Pollock on my next list (his Birthday is January 28th)! 😉

ANYWAY, Mozart’s Birthday is January 27th and I thought there may be some people out there that will be needing some ideas and resources. 😉

I’ve been thinking about writing up a post on how we do nature studies. Is that of interest? I have tons of great pictures! 😀

I’ve also been thinking about a post on my “methods”……. I consider myself an “eclectic” homeschooler. Any interest there?

As always, I try to include resources for a variety of ages. All books can be found at your local library, on Amazon or Paperback Swap (you should really check out this link).

Fly on the Wall ~ July

It’s that time, again!! YIPPPEEEE!!! Fly on the Wall!!! Thought up by the marvelous Karen at Baking in a Tornado!

Welcome to a Fly on the Wall group post. Today 12 bloggers are inviting you to catch a glimpse of what you’d see if you were a fly on the wall in our homes. Come on in and buzz around my house.

Buzz around, see what you think, then click on these links for a peek into some other homes:

This month I decided to do something a little different…. Just a little. As you may know Jacob, our oldest son, has moved back home! YAY!!!!!! And since then we have dredged up a bit of an old family tradition. We call it “The Music Game”. In The Music Game, The Hubby will play a song and the rest of us have to name the band and the song title, extra points if you know the year. We do songs from almost all genres and spanning at least 6 decades. The older kids LOVE it and the little ones love to listen along.

So, if you were a fly on the wall at my house over the past month, here are a few songs you might have heard.

Hope you had fun!!!! These are just a few of my favorites that we have heard while playing The Music Game! 😉

It definitely helps with the kids’ musically knowledge. Maybe one day I will do a list of their favorite classical pieces. LOL

Don’t forget to check out all the amazing bloggers on the list!!!!

A New Idea

I have an idea that started floating around in my head today. I am SO excited about it!!! It involves this-

And this –

Intrigued?? Well, you are going to have to wait a day or two. 😉 But I will hopefully be posting a new tutorial in a couple of days. 🙂 Be prepared for something Halloweeny! LOL

I have been ironing like crazy today!! My goodness! I finished a couple of presents for a friend. I wish I could share the pictures but she just might stumble onto them… LOL

I have to say, I LOVE my iron! LOL Check out this picture!!!!

Crazy, huh??? Oh my goodness! It took me FOREVER to get all the wrinkles out!!

Let’s see if I can get this to work. I LOVE this song. It has been playing in my head all day. I remember one of the first cassettes I owned was Amy Grant. Such a sweet and beautiful voice!

Hmmmm… that doesn’t look promising.. I hope it shows up. :/ ANYWAY, just in case, it’s El Shaddai. Beautiful song.

Thy Word

I hope these songs bless you! 🙂

These songs almost make me want to get up and sing a solo! ALMOST!! LOL It’s been MANY MANY MANY years since I was brave enough to do that!! LOL But God says to make a joyful noise… I guess that’s what you could call my singing! LOL 😉

Have a wonderful and blessed night!!!
