Hilton Head 2013 – The Family Reunion

So you’ve probably been wondering where I’ve been….

At the beginning of last week my dad was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. He was still bound and determined to go to the family reunion on the weekend. Prayers were sent and he was released on Wednesday.  They drove from Nashville to here that evening and we left on Thursday to go to my aunt’s in Columbia. On Friday we visited my grandparent’s grave and placed flowers. Afterwards we headed to Hilton Head!

We had SO MUCH FUN! I can’t even describe how wonderful it was to see and spend time with everyone. My dad has 7 siblings and all but one attended the reunion. Then add in all my cousins and 2nd cousins and a couple of 3rd cousins! LOL It was a BLAST!!!!

On Saturday we had a cousins day at the beach! It was just so cool to see all lined up down the beach and hanging out with each other and watching our kids play in the sand and water together.

We had pool time, family meals, park day and family worship on Sunday.  I can’t wait for next year!!!!

At the beach! Almost all of my cousins that attended the reunion were at the beach on Saturday, one of my 2nd cousins and her 2 little ones missed this trip. The kids all totaled 12.

I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to spend time with my wonderful, loving family!

 

 

 

Packing, Packing and More Packing

 

It’s been a week since my last post. I have been packing and packing and packing….. ARGH!!!! Anyone want to come help me with this????  I am sooooo worn out and I still have TONS of packing to do!!!! The master bedroom is almost done. My sewing room is almost done. The books are about 1/2 way done. We are getting there but now we are out of boxes. I had a feeling that I should have kept all the boxes from the last move. I did have some still in the garage, thank goodness!  We are  going to have to find the U-Haul place and BUY boxes now, the stores around here just don’t keep them.

 

We took a break on Monday and went to the beach for the last time. That’s about the only part I am sad about! LOL I am going to miss being this close to the beach!! But at least I will have the mountains to make up for that. I really ought to move to mountains that are BY the beach! LOL

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

They made 2 castles with a moat between them. Actually, Cailey says hers was an evil tower and Colin’s was the good castle. LOL

 

 

Joshua managed to get away without a picture on this day, but I got The Hubby, Deanna, Cailey and Colin! 🙂

I want to go back to the beach. Where are the packing fairies??? They can come and finish it up for me, right????

 

 

 

A Day at the Beach

 

 

As most of you know, Jacob (our oldest son) is visiting from Virginia for a few days and brought his best friend, Charles, with him. We decided to take the morning and head to the beach! Our older 3 kids hadn’t been to the beach since they were VERY little and our youngest 2 had never been at all!! I LOVE the beach but, unfortunately, The Hubby does NOT, so while he was at work we took off and went! We are much closer to the beach here than when we lived in Virginia so now I can take the kids any time! YAY!!!!

It was in the 60’s yesterday, so while not exactly ideal beach weather it was still warm enough to dip our toes. 😉

We had a FANTASTIC day at the beach and the kids can’t wait to go back! YAY!!!

 

On a sad note, Jacob and Charles leave this evening to head back to Virginia. I hate to see them go but at least they are heading back with new experiences. I hope the train ride back is more comfortable for them!
