Helpful Sewing Tips, Tutorials and Free Patterns

I am posting under the influence of pain meds so I am not responsible for what I might say. 😉 I ended up at the emergency room last night. The pain was just more than I could deal with. Thankfully the doctor gave me a prescription for antibiotics and pain killers! Hopefully this will all be behind me in a couple of days.

I have noticed that my blog views have gone WAAAAAAAAAY down over the past 2 weeks. I know it’s because I haven’t had a new tutorial to post. SO SORRY! I have been so busy with costumes and life in general that I haven’t had time to do any sewing for tutorials. 😦  BUT after I finish Snoopy I will be working on Tinkerbell for Cailey. Stuff, Stuff and More….Stuff…..

WOW. I can sure pick a title… Oh, brother… LOL

So, what have I been up to?? Let me tell you all about it. 😉

I have Colin’s dinosaur costume almost all the way done! YAY! All it needs are eyes, nostrils and teeth! LOL

I have most of the Snoopy costume done. I need to finish the head and make the hands and feet!

This is the back of Snoopy. 😉

THEN I will be working on Cailey’s Tinkerbell. All kinds of ideas are floating around in my head about that one!

We have been sorting through the girls’ clothes in anticipation of our move. SIGH… Still SOOOO much to do.  The toys need to be thinned out in a BAD BAD way. My books will be SLIGHTLY thinned out. Just a smidge, really. 😉

This football game is NOT going the way it ought to! Come on, Mountaineers!! You are #5!! You are playing an unranked team!! GOOD GRIEF!!! I wonder if it has to do with those ugly new helmets they are wearing… LOL

The killer toothache is back. BLECK!!!! My cousin and her cutie patootie little guy were supposed to come up and visit today. Because of my toothache I had to cancel. WAH!!!! We were going to go to the pumpkin patch. :*(

Yesterday I got to spend a couple of hours with my BFF. She lives about 4 hours away and we only get to see each other about twice a year. Unfortunately my tooth started up last night so I went home early. 😦

Here is a pic of my 2 youngest with her 2 kids. 🙂

I guess when we move we won’t be able to see each other twice a year. NOT HAPPY!!!! BUT hopefully when we get settled we can invite them down. FINGERS CROSSED!!!

We have put off homeschooling until we are moved and settled. There’s just too much going on right now. We will just have to make the time up by going later into the summer. OHHH, maybe I can talk them into doing January through September as a school year!! I have really been considering that. It would just work so much better. There’s always so much going on in October, November and December. It would be nice to use those months as our break. The summer is always so hot that no one wants to go out and do anything anyway! Well, except for the pool…..

OK, tooth is killing me. I think I will try to lie down and rest. Maybe if the pain eases up I can take a nap!

This book series is AMAZING! We have a few of them and I am always on the lookout for them on sale!

Here is a complete list of the book series – You Wouldn’t Want to Be

Now, here are some things that I do have and I wouldn’t want to do without!

Ocean (DK Eyewitness Books)

DK Eyewitness books. LOVE them and I am trying to collect them all! LOL The kids love to pull these off the shelves and dive right into them.

If You Lived In Colonial Times

If You Lived series is another set of books that I wouldn’t want to be without. They are all set in different times in American history. They are perfect for lapbooks and notebooking.

Blood-Curdling Box (Horrible Histories)

Horrible Histories!! SO awesome! I love reading these with the kids. I have quite a few of them but again, I am always on the lookout for others. They make history fun! They are factual and funny at the same time. 😉

Bulging Box of Books (Horrible Science)

Horrible Science- Written by a different author than the Horrible Histories but still very factual and entertaining. We use both sets for our lapbooks and notebooks, too!

Isaac Newton and His Apple: Dead Famous

Dead Famous Series- Again, very factual and entertaining. The kids would rather read these than a regular biography.

Who Was King Tut?

Another set of biographies that the kids really enjoy.

Books like the ones I have been sharing with you are wonderful for kids. They show them that learning doesn’t have to be a dead bore! LOL They can enjoy learning about people and things from the past!

The Magic School Bus: A Journey into the Human Body

We started out the school year LAST year with this kit from Magic School Bus. The Cs LOVED it and still remember so much from using it! We have a couple more of the Magic School Bus kits to do but so far we have done the human body and dinosaurs (of course).

Young Scientist Series - Set 2: Weather (Kit 4) - Solids, Liquids, and Gases (Kit 5) - Volcanoes (Kit 6)

I have talked about The Young Scientist Kits before, we still love them! But we will definitely be buying them from Amazon! LOL Much cheaper that way! 😉

Little Passports, another club that we LOVE. And now they have introduced kits for the 50 states! YAY!!! It is a wonderful, fun way to learn geography!

Another thing I like to do for our country studies/geography is to go to World Market and buy stuff made in whatever country we are learning about at the time. It’s very fun for the kids to try different foods and touch different things made in other countries. I think it makes it more “real” for them.

Smart Lab The Amazing Squishy Brain

The Squishy Brain!!! The Cs love the Squishy Brain and have been BEGGING for the Squishy Body! LOL

AND we just bought this-

SmartLab Toys The Amazing Squishy T. Rex, Multi Color

Colin is LOVING the Squishy T-Rex! LOL

So, there are just a few things that I want and a few things that have and love! 😉 I hope this helps someone!

I like to keep our schooling as hands on as possible. My older kids do not appreciate it as much… I think it was too many years in public school! LOL They just want to know what they HAVE to do, then give them a book and let them do it. :/

Here are just a few pictures from past themes we have done and places we have gone that I considered part of schooling. 😉 I have a LOT more pictures but I will share those with you later. 😉

Here are pics of Cailey and Colin from when we had our Ancient Egypt study. We had a book with masks in it that you cut out and put together. I can’t for the life of me remember what the book was called! LOL We still have some masks in it to do but I can’t find it. SIGH… It has to be here somewhere!

Here are Cailey and Colin’s pictures they made from glue and shaving cream for our arctic study. She did an arctic fox and he did a polar bear.

The glue and shaving cream mixture dries puffy. It’s pretty cool and a lot cheaper than puffy paint! LOL You just mix one part glue to one part shaving cream, stir and paint! Voila!

Both of these pictures were taken at Bass Pro. We go there quite often and I think it’s a great place for learning. They have a mock cave and a huge aquarium. Then there are all of those stuffed animals like the bear! LOL I am going to miss it when we move. Right now the closest Bass Pro is 15 mins away. When we move the closest one will be in Savannah which is an hour away! WAH!!!

The kids at the art museum 2 years ago. Richmond has an AMAZING art museum and it’s FREE!! Well, you have to pay to see the special exhibits like the Picasso one they had a couple of years ago. BUT the exhibits they have year round are excellent AND free! We really need to plan another trip before we move. It’s a great place not only for learning about art but history, too.

The Botanical Gardens. LOVE that place!! The kids can learn about flora and fauna AND other countries. In the children’s part they have different types of homes from different countries and TONS of hands on activities. I hope they have a nice on in Savannah.

At the zoo!! I can’t find any of the pictures I took of the animals. LOL But naturally the zoo is an awesome place for learning. At the Richmond Zoo they have a HUGE giraffe exhibit and you actually get to feed them. The kids got a kick out of that! LOL

The top picture is of Cailey’s poster she did for Australia! Right as we were finishing that country up I found out that the fair would have   an Australian animal exhibit! PERFECT timing! LOL We even saw albino wallabies!

For Brazil we did a lapbook but on the last day I made a special treat, Brazilian banana fritas! YUMMY!!!!

This is Cailey’s rendition of Manet’s Amazon. Not to bad! LOL She was 7 when she did this one.

This is Cailey’s moth. She found a caterpillar at the park and brought it home. We had the same type of tree in our yard that she found it on so we put it in the bug carrier with some branches off that tree. The next day it starting making it’s cocoon! It was so cool! We watched and waited and after a while we had a tent moth! LOL

So, there you have it! Just a few of the things we have done in the past. I think I will post more tomorrow! 🙂

I am looking forward to having new places to explore for school! LOL

Writer’s Block Take 2!

BLAH!!!!!!!!!! Yep…. I have it again. Stinking writer’s block. (insert mumbling here)

I haven’t sewn much the past couple of days. Yesterday was an out and out war between my machine and myself. GRRR!! I won that battle (with some help from The Hubby).  It was rattling something awful and I was trying to take it apart and figure it out. The Hubby took it apart even more and eventually found an arm had detached from….. something… He put it back on and it works again! SHEW!

I broke 3 needles yesterday trying to sew through thick layers of fleece. SIGH… I was using  100/16 titanium needles, I guess I need some bigger than that.

It’s been very rainy and cool here the past few days. BLECK!!!! Definitely hot chocolate weather, though!

I went to church yesterday morning to listen to the missionaries. Afterward we had lunch and the Seniors on Mission group and I packed bags for Bags of Hope and Love! YAY!! The lady that is taking over for me wants to go with me the next time I drop bags off. I think I will have to make that my last official day as the leader of it here since I need to start focusing on moving and finishing up Halloween projects. But I am looking forward to starting a new group in Georgia!!  I was reading the library’s site for that county and they have a once a week meeting for sewists! YAY!! Maybe I can them interested in it, too!!

I think I will turn over all the donations to her that day, too. Well, I think I will take the donations made directly to me with me to start the group in Georgia, any donations that were from church members will remain here for this group. Do you think that sounds good? Or should I just leave all the donations and start from scratch?

I started a new book today. For Paperback Swap members, it’s for a swap. 😉 You all know I never read swap books until they are picked!! For nonPBSers, swaps are little games on PaperbackSwap.com that members can play. Usually a game has a theme and all books revealed must meet certain guidelines pertaining to that theme. I usually do a Halloween swap every year but I have to sit this year out with the move and all. :/ You should all check them out if you love to read!!! PBS is my favorite site in the whole world! Well, except for my blog. 😉 You have to be a member to view the games forum but it is sooooo worth it! You trade books for FREE!!! All you pay is shipping costs to mail out a book you already own to another member that has requested it. Most often it only costs a few dollars to mail one book and you get a credit to the site to order a book for yourself that is then shipped to you by another member that then earns a credit for his or herself for mailing the book to you! LOL  AND you can also buy credits to order books… I have done that QUITE often…. I have a book hoarding problem…. And no, thank you, I do not want to join a 12 step program for it. 😉 Let me have my book and fabric addictions, please! LOL

OH!! I got another great Bzz campaign from Bzz Agent!! This one is for Gorton’s fish. I received a coupon for a free box, a spatula with Gorton’s on the handle and some coupons to hand out to friends.  I love free stuff. LOL Even if I don’t like it someone in this house is bound to! LOL The Hubby and 3 of the 5 kids LOVE seafood.  Too bad I don’t get any points for adding this in my post!! LOL Sometimes you do and sometimes you don’t. No biggie, I love Bzz Agent anyway. 😉 And I always give my honest opinion of something whether I’m asked to or not. 😉

Let’s see… We need some pictures don’t we?? No blog post is complete without pictures!!!

All of these come from LOLCats

These sausages are my sausages

OH! I forgot to name the book I just started! LOL It is Cake on a Hot Tin Roof (A Piece of Cake Mystery, Bk 2) by Jacklyn Brady.

Cake on a Hot Tin Roof (Piece of Cake, Bk 2)

The first one was very good! I hope this one is, too!

I had to put down Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling so that I can read and mail the swap book before we move. I still have 2 other swaps with books floating around in it! YILES!!

For Sale- One Husband, Going Cheap!!!

Yep. You read that right. I am selling The Hubby…. Really, it’s either that or do him bodily harm. Let me tell you what he did to me today and then you tell me what I ought to do….

The girls and I had not been home from church for very long when The Hubby takes his gun outside. This is a normal occurrence so I didn’t think anything about it. The next thing I know I hear a shot. Again, a normal occurrence. Deanna goes into the kitchen and I hear her yell, “Daddy is on the ground!” Scared out of my mind I run out the door. I see him propped up on his arm. I’m yelling and asking him if he’s OK and what happened??? When I get to him I see blood ALL OVER his stomach. It looks like it’s just everywhere! I screamed, “OH MY GOD! I’m getting the ambulance!!” (I NEVER take the Lord’s name in vain. I was calling out to Him.) I start running toward the house with all kinds of scary things going through my mind when I hear The Hubby calling my name. He gets up and walks toward me. It was a joke. A JOKE!!! Yes…. A FREAKING JOKE! When I realize he is OK that’s when I break down and start sobbing. I could now gleefully shoot him myself!!! And Deanna was in on it.

Last night he went to Walmart and bought a big jug of fake blood. Let me tell you, it’s the best fake blood I have ever seen. Scared me to death. I was convinced that he was going to bleed to death!

Oh, and now he’s worried that he may have stained his jeans. Sorry, but I can’t dredge up any sympathy for that. I am still way beyond mad at him.

And of course, he and Deanna think it’s just the funniest thing they have ever seen. GRRRRR!!!!!!!! Talking about they wish they had filmed it. Maybe they should have, it would have been evidence for my defense!!!! ARGH!!!!!

I can’t think of a punishment harsh enough for the two of them!!!

Vudu magik turns husband into lolcat!

How to Homeschool in Virginia and Basic Homeschool Info

This is a post that should have written  a long time ago! LOL It can be very confusing when you first start looking to homeschool. The local school systems are usually uninformed or misinformed about the laws and can give you the wrong answers if you ask them. And some  people that work in the school systems can be down right hostile about homeschooling. I have first hand experience with that. 😉

So here is the break down.

You do NOT need prior authorization to take your children out of the school system. They ASK they you notify the superintendent of your local board of education within 2 wks of starting your homeschooling.

You need to file a NOI (notice of intent to homeschool) with the local board of education, addressed to the superintendent. What this means is that you need to send in a list of your children that you will be homeschooling and their ages, along with your address. You will need to send in an NOI every year by August 15th. Some BoEs have a person that is designated to handle the homeschooling paperwork, even if that is the case, send your NOI to the superintendent like the law states. 😉

There are several options when filing to homeschool. Under option 1 you have 3 choices- i- You have a high school diploma, GED or higher. You will put this on your NOI and send in a copy ONE time. After that when you send in your yearly NOIs, you can say that your diploma is on file. ii-have a teaching degree,  iii- provide a curriculum or program of study,  iv-You do NOT need a diploma or GED. If you don’t have a copy of your diploma or just don’t have one at all, you can still homeschool in the state of Virginia. You will need to say on the NOI that you are filing under that option (iv) and include a paragraph that shows you have basic mastery of the English language.  This is the option I usually use. I  write a paragraph stating why I think homeschooling my children is a better option for my family and my general homeschooling philosophy. I have never been found to not be in compliance.

There are other options- 2- Religious Exemption, 3- Certified Tutor, 4- Private or Denominational School but I believe that option 1 is used most often.

No matter which option you choose, you will need to send a list of subjects that you plan to teach. This can be as simple as saying math, science, art, history, music, etc. This has just recently been cleared up. Some counties were asking for scans of the table of contents from text books, or out and out summaries of each subject. BLAH!! That was more than the law asked for.

You will need to test your children at the end of every year OR have them evaluated by someone that holds a teaching degree in any state. I always go with the testing option just because it is easier and less costly. You can buy the tests for $25 for each child and give them yourself in your own home. I always use Seton Testing Service. They are quick and easy.

Here is a site that gives the specific laws for homeschooling in Virginia, HSLDA and HEAV.

Also, notice that the law specifically says that the BoE has NO RIGHT to approve or deny your right to homeschool your children. They can only say whether or not you are in compliance with the law. The letter that I receive from my county actually says that I am approved and that just goes all over me….. I called a local homeschool lobbyist and she said that I COULD fight it if I wanted to but that she would just let the wording go unless there was some other infraction that happens. So, that is what I did.

Now, when you pull your children out of school all you have to do is say that you are taking them out to homeschool. DO NOT let them tell you that you can’t because YOU CAN! You need NO prior authorization whatsoever. 😉 I actually had this happen to me in Henrico county. 2 of my children were in elementary school when I decided to homeschool. I went to the school to withdraw them and everyone was perfectly lovely and supportive. Deanna’s teacher even offered to provide me with anything I might need in the way of curriculum. Then I went to the middle school to withdraw Jacob…. Oh, boy! A completely different experience!!! The lady in the attendance office was downright hostile! She said that I had no right to homeschool. How would they know I was doing a proper job?? I had her call the BoE and ask THEM. Well, she got someone on the other line that misinformed her. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!! I went home and called the same local homeschool lobbyist that I had to call when we moved out of Henrico county. She said that she wanted the name of the lady that the attendance lady talked to, because she was misinforming the school.  One thing lead to another and I agreed to talk to the superintendent at the BoE about the whole experience. He apologized for everything I went through and said that he would make sure it never happened again and that everyone in his office and the office of  the lady that oversees all the homeschooling paperwork in Henrico county would be given a current list of the homeschooling laws and make sure that they understood them correctly.

You do NOT need money to homeschool. All you need is internet access and a library. Seriously. I have NEVER spent a lot of money on homeschooling. Most of the money I spend goes to paper and ink! LOL BUT if you want to you can certainly buy the fancy packages but know that they are not needed. There are SOOOO many free resources online. When I do spend money it’s usually for unit studies on Currclick or lapbooks/notebooking packs at Hands of a Child. LOL  You can find free unit studies, lapbooks and notebooking at these and other places-

There are MANY, MANY more but these are really great starting points and the ones I use most often.

Also, check out my Pinterest boards! I have stuff saved for every subject you could possibly think of! LOL

All of this may sound complicated, but it really isn’t. It may sound scary, but it isn’t that, either. Now, that being said, it can feel overwhelming at times and there are the bad days BUT I wouldn’t change it for the world. I LOVE homeschooling my children and I wish that I had ALWAYS been a homeschooler. Even if I moved to a town with PERFECT schools I would still choose to homeschool. Am I a perfect homeschooling mom? That doesn’t exist. BUT I am doing what I think is right for each of my children. That is what counts. Will we miss a few things here and there academically? Maybe… But tell me, who remembers every single little thing that they were taught in schools? No one and I can’t do much worse than that! LOL My kids are learning at their pace and in their own styles. There’s no stress and no pressure. They are kids and I want them to enjoy that time, it is so fleeting. So, if it takes one of the kids 2 years to learn algebra properly, that’s OK!! And if one hates to write then he or she can type or draw or simply tell me in his or her own words. I don’t do grades. To me if they know it, they know and if they don’t, they don’t. There is no in between and we have all the time in the world to make sure they understand something completely.

There are so many wonderful things about homeschooling. This post just scratches the surface! LOL I could go on and on and on. And on…. LOL Maybe I should make a weekly homeschool post! LOL

I have a couple of other posts about homeschooling in general and I list some of my favorite homeschooling sites and blogs. You can find those posts under the homeschool button at the top of the page.

I Think I Have Writer’s Block

Yeah, what the title says… LOL I couldn’t think of one decent title for this post. SIGH… I think it’s because I have so many things going on right now and so many emotions inside of me. Let me update you all and you’ll see what I mean. 😉

The Hubby called and accepted the Georgia job yesterday. I have very mixed emotions about this and if you’ve been reading along you’ll know why. I don’t mind moving. I have moved SOOOO many times in my life that I always look at it as a new adventure. BUT and this is a BIG BUT, this time I will be leaving a wonderful church family AND my oldest son behind. I have already made him promise to take a train down for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I also made him promise to call me AT LEAST once a week. I told him if he doesn’t I will start calling all of his friends and asking them questions about how he’s doing. Hee hee hee. A little blackmail never hurt anyone… 😉

I have been trying very hard to put all that behind me (actually, it’s more like denial) and get excited about what the future holds. One good thing, the warmer winters should be good for fibro, at least that’s what I have heard! I love new places and new faces, new experiences. And one of the best things, a bigger pay check! LOL

We are planning on moving the first weekend in November. That way the kids will get to trick or treat here but we should be settled in there before Thanksgiving.

There are many pluses to the move and only 2 drawbacks, even thought those drawbacks are big ones. We will be closer to a lot of my family. I have many aunts, uncles and cousins in South Carolina and one aunt, uncle and cousin in Georgia. I will be close enough to visit them!! YAY!!!!!  AND many friends have said that they will be able to visit there in Georgia! AWESOME! It will also be a shorter drive for us to visit family in Tennessee.

BUT I will be farther away from friends and family in West Virginia, although I haven’t actually been able to visit in the 6 yrs we have lived here.

So, umm, yeah… very conflicted emotions!

The homeschooling laws in Georgia are a lot more lenient than the ones here in Virginia, that’s a big plus. Also, there will be new areas to explore for field trips! We should actually have the money to do more things! 😉 We are already planning a trip to the Okefenokee Swap after Thanksgiving!

The house we want is still available. As long as we can get the deposit together soon, we should be able to get it. Pray that we find a way!

I have been working on Colin’s dinosaur costume. I still have the head, feet and hands to do.

After this I will be working on the Snoopy costume! YAY!!! Then Cailey’s Tinkerbell! I will probably do a tutorial for that one.

I have sooooo much to do!! I need to go through toys, books and clothes to see what goes and what gets donated! I need to find someone to take over Bags of Hope and Love at church. I will be standing up to make that announcement at church tomorrow. Pray that I find someone willing to continue it here! I know I will be starting it up in Georgia as soon as we are settled! This is a ministry that I feel very strongly about and I plan to continue it no matter where I am. Unfortunately there will always be kids that are hurting and in need, until the good Lord calls us home.

So tired, I just want to curl up and nap even though it’s a beautiful day!

I’m trying to decide if I should pull out all of our Halloween decorations or leave them packed…. Maybe we will just get a few pumpkins to carve and decorate and leave everything else packed up. Less hassle for right now! LOL

And now I am just rambling. Actually, I think that is all I have been doing with this post! LOL  SORRY!!!

Here are a few pictures to make up for the BLAH post! 😉

Seriously? Ur wearing that?!

Secret Subject Swap

Welcome to a “Secret Subject Swap”.  Nine brave bloggers agreed to take on the challenge of being assigned a subject and interpreting it into a piece written in our own style.  Everyone involved picked a “secret subject” for someone else and was also assigned a “secret subject” to write about.  Today we are all divulging what we were assigned and submitting our posts.

Here are links to all 9 sites featuring “Secret Subject Swap” posts today.  We’ve certainly succeeded in amusing ourselves, check them all out and see if we can amuse you too!

My subject –

What is the funniest thing you have ever heard?

It was submitted by    http://happy-little-feet.blogspot.ca/

Oh, boy…. Now that is a TOUGH one!!!! With 5 kids I have heard some FUNNNNNY things. LOL  So, may instead of the funniest I will just name a few of them. I’m not sure I could pick just one! LOL

1- When The Hubby and I were newly married we lived with my father-in-law. One night after they had both gone to sleep, The Hubby starts mumbling…. Hee hee hee… I LOVE to mess with him when he’s sleep talking. 😉 Here’s how it went down-

The Hubby – He won’t let me in!

Me –  Who won’t let you in?

The Hubby – The little green man.

Me- Why won’t he let you on?

The Hubby – Because I’m too old…. Look! There he goes! Under the table!

Father-in-law in the next room ALSO asleep – That’s OK! We’ll get him!

OMGosh! I had tears streaming down my face from laughing so hard! Neither of them believed me the next morning, or so they said…..

2- On our way to Georgia last week, I would list the states and how far to the next one. Colin pipes up and says, “So when will we be in South America??”

3- When Deanna was about 8 yrs old she and her friends were invited to a surprise party for another friend. Well, one if the girls accidentally mentioned it to the Birthday girl. Deanna comes home and says, “Yep, Chynna really let the cat out of the house!”

4- One day when Cailey was about 2 I found her in the kitchen sitting on a bowl with an egg in it. When asked what she was doing, she replied, “I’m trying to hatch it!”

5- One day when Jacob was about 10, he and Joshua (8) were playing video games. Jacob says to Joshua, “Oooh! Look at those acid reflexes! I’m moving so fast only your eyes can see me!” ROFLMBO!! He still hates it when I bring that up! LOL

Now that I have given you some funny things that I have heard, here are some funnies that I have SEEN! 😉

Sure hope all this has made you laugh!!! It was a lot of fun to write!

Hey, Karen!! We might need to do this more often! 😉

And a GINORMOUS thank you to Karen at Baking In a Tornado!!!!

Cutie Patootie!

Here is the whole reason for the name of this post –

Isn’t he THE cutest little guy??? That is my 2nd cousin Liam and he is an absolute doll!!! He is wearing the Day of the Dead pants that I made for him! 🙂

I made them a little big. I had the measurements for shorts because that is what I had planned on making BUT I waited so long to actually make them that I made pants instead… LOL  But, I figure they will shrink a tiny bit and then he will just be able to wear them longer. 😉

I have Bags of Hope and Love news!! A GINORMOUS thank you to Regena!!! I want to show her what her donate bought! 😉

THANK YOU!!! And the boys and girls that get the bags that this stuff will be in thank you, too. AWESOME!!!! May God bless you!!!!

There are 3 shampoos, 4 body washes, 4 shaving gels, 2 pks of hand sanitizer, 3 note pads, 3 pks of snacks, 2 pks of drinks, 1 pk of razors and I think that’s it! LOL

Job search news!!! The Hubby called the guy back at the place in GA that we visited last week and gave him a salary number. The guy said it didn’t sound unreasonable and he would get back with us by Friday. I have to admit to being a little downcast. I know I should be happy and thankful, and I am, but I am also very, very sad. I don’t want to leave my church family and I don’t want to leave Jacob. He has said over and over again that if we move he won’t be going with us. This breaks my heard into a thousand pieces. I know he is 19 and he would be leaving us sometime in the near future anyway, but he will be SOOOOOOO far away!!! I can’t even imagine what it will like to not see his face

and hear his voice everyday. I know I will be able to talk to him on the phone but I won’t be able to hug him. SIGH….. Y’all pray for me, OK?? I’m going to need them. Just sitting here typing this has me fighting back the tears.

I guess I will need to see if I can find someone that can take over Bags of Hope and Love at my church. I will start another chapter of it if/when we move. I guess that’s good, right? Spreading it even farther??

Ok, enough of me blabbering… Let’s see if I can find some funny pictures to lighten the mood!

OH! That reminds me!!! Tomorrow I will have a VERY SPECIAL post…. Hee hee hee!! You don’t want to miss it! 😉
