Your “Secret Subject” is:

You’ve just received a call-you’ve won the trip of your dreams!  Describe what it would be-where you’d want to go, what you’d want to do, and who’d you want to do it with.  Use your imagination-anything can be possible here!

It was submitted by: http://sadderbutwiser.wordpress.com/

WOW!!! I won a trip!!! SOOOOO COOOOOOL!!!!! The Hubby and I have NEVER been on a real vacation. NEVER!!!! We taken a day trip here and there but that is it. :/

I LOOOOVE to travel to new places. I LOOOOOVE seeing new things.

My absolute DREAM trip would be a couple of months visiting pretty much every European nation. I would see absolutely everything that I could. Castles, historical sites, villages, big cities. EVERYTHING!!!!!

I hope this trip comes with some money, too… I would want TONS of souvenirs!!! And not the cheap touristy stuff!!!!! ;)

AND I would take the whole family. Yes, I do dream of getting away for a bit without the kids but I know myself… I wouldn’t have as good a time without them as I would have experiencing everything with them.

I think I will go be depressed now. There’s no way my dream vacation will EVER happen. Well, unless I win the lottery… but that would mean I would have to actually play the lottery…. LOL

Don’t forget to check out all the amazing bloggers that are taking part in the Secret Subject Swap!!! I <3 them all!!!!!!

Your “Secret Subject” is:

What’s your favorite book? Why? If you could have the author write one more book about those characters, what do you wish he/she would write about?

It was submitted by: http://dinoheromommy.com/

OK, you know this was an easy one for me!! LOL My favorite books of ALLLLLLL time have to be the Harry Potter books!!! That series, to me, is the most magical (no pun intended) (OK, maybe the pun was intended) series that I have ever read. You are transported to a fantastical place where anything is possible. That is why I read! I read to be transported from my daily life to someplace else and no other series does it better.

I just recently reread the series for the I don’t know what time. 10th maybe?? Something like that anyway. SIGH… I wish it could go on forever!!!!!

picture

HP is more than just a children’s series. It is actually very deep, very moving, very thought provoking!

picture

Now, that being said, I did quite mad at JK Rowling over the last book…. I won’t say anything more specific just in case someone out there hasn’t read them and plans on it in the future. BUT, if you have read them you know what I mean! ARGH!!!!!!!

Picture

So, if I could make JK Rowling write more HPs, I would want to know more about Dumbledore! You just can’t write all that stuff about him and not elaborate!! LOL I want DETAILS!!!!

Picture

AND I would not be adverse to books about James and Lily! Tell us EVERYTHING!!! PLEASE!!!!!

Or how about Harry’s kids?? There’s a lot that can be told there, too!

I just want MORE!!! More Harry Potter!! More of that world!!!!

My subject is: There is no such thing as a do-over, but let’s pretend there is.  What is one thing you would do over and what would you do differently?  It was submitted by Sadder But Wiser Girl.  Here goes:

Just pick one thing???? YEESH!!! That’s a tough one… ONE thing… I can think of MANY things that I would like to do over. Not that I would necessarily do anything differently. I think my choices, good AND bad, are what helped to make me the person I am today. The bad situations/choices only made me stronger. Without tears there can be no laughter. ;)

If I were to do ANYTHING over it would be just to relive those precious moments that are gone soooo quickly. I guess I would go back to the day that my oldest child, Jacob, was born. I would start there and live each and every day to its fullest. I would relive the births of all 5 of my kids over. I would redo those baby years, the toddler years and even they WHY years. Then I would fast forward back to THIS day!!!!! LOL I am not done with teen years yet and I think going through those once is DEFINITELY enough!! I pat myself on the back everyday knowing I managed to get THIS far, 19, 17, 16, 9 (this month) and 6 (this month). Yeah. That is what I would do. I can relive sleepless nights and clothes covered in spit up. I DO NOT want to relive the pod people years.

Yes, POD people. One day they are your sweet little angels and the next day it’s like a pod person has taken over their bodies!!!! THAT is the teen years. I wouldn’t want to even do MY teen years over again. BLECK!! No, thank you!!

I miss my babies being babies. I love my kids and I am proud of who they are growing into, I just wish that it could last longer. This whole leaving the nest thing is almost more than I can take! I may go around the bend when the last one leaves. THANKFULLY, I have 12 more years before that happens!

THAT is going to be ME!!!! LOL

Now, be sure to check out all the other blogs!! They are AMAZING!!!!!

February Secret Subject Swap Take 2

Welcome to Take Two of February’s Secret Subject Swap. This week, 14 brave bloggers picked a secret subject for someone else and were assigned a secret subject to interpret in their own style. Today we are all simultaneously divulging our topics and submitting our posts.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to read ALLLLL the Secret Subject Swap posts!! You WON’T be sorry!!!!

My SUPER DUPER SECRET SUBJECT this month is

“What it was like to grocery shop without a Starbucks in every store” submitted by The Mommy Ref.

This secret subject hits SOOOOO close to home. You see I live in a town with *gulp* NO STARBUCKS! Yes!! You read that correctly! There is not a single Starbucks in this whole town! OOOOH! The HUMANITY!!!! It has taken me 3 months to come to grips with that concept. It hasn’t been an easy battle. I thought for a while that I might have to check myself into a Starbucks Withdrawal Center, but I couldn’t find one of those either. Most other people across America can HAVE their Starbucks any old time they please. But NOOOOOO, not me! If I want a super yummy peppermint hot chocolate I have to drive for 35 MINUTES! Yes! The closest Starbucks is 35!!! MINUTES!!!! AWAY!!! I imagine living in Alaska would be better. At least there you can watch the wildlife and enjoy the snow. SIGH….

Now that I’ve started my rant, let me tell you the OTHER things my town does NOT have….

TARGET!! Obviously, no Starbucks would also equal no Target. They seem to come as a pair these days. WAH!!!!!!!

NO Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts!!!!! We do have a small, locally owned doughnut shop but it just doesn’t compare. Their doughnuts taste like cardboard! I didn’t think it would be easy to mess up a doughnut… I was wrong.

NO books stores of ANY kind! GASP!! This one is even worse than not having Starbucks!!! I haven’t bought a single book since we moved! My nerves can’t take much more!

No Michael’s, JoAnn’s or Hancock’s! Not even a Hobby Lobby!!! There IS a small, locally owned fabric shop and it’s OK….. It will do in a pinch, I suppose, but the selection is not very large.

No mall, people! NO MALL!!!! No Yankee Candle! No Bath and Body Works!!! Not even a Sears!

I live at the edge of the world!!!

There is vast nothingness surrounding me!

Civilization is over 35 miles away!!!! The only store we have is WALMART!!!!

So, the next time you go out shopping and grab something from Starbucks, remember me! Drink one FOR ME!!! Remind me of what it is like TO have a Starbucks on every corner!

Also, I might have a list for Target…… ;)

My subject is - Tell us about you and your husband’s love story.  It was submitted by: http://rushingforbagels.blogspot.comy

This is a very timely topic for me. The Hubby and I just celebrated our 20th anniversary. Not that we actually got to do anything or go anywhere…. You see, our anniversary is December 30th…… 5 days after Christmas…. Yeah, we are ALWAYS broke by then! LOL

I decided that instead of telling you our story I would tell you about the day we got married. It was definitely… ummmm… unforgettable…. LOL

We had been planning a big wedding with all the trimmings but the warring factions  ummmm, other family members, were giving us some major stress. SOOOO we decided to elope. Easy peasy, right?? Well, I still wanted to get married in church so we contacted the preacher to see if he would just let us show up and get married. He was delighted so that is what we did. I had a pretty dress that my mom had given me and The Hubby had a nice sweater that my mom had given him. Perfect. Time to get married.

We go to the church with 2 of The Hubby’s friends as witnesses. We get there and are ushered into the preacher’s office where we begin the formalities, do you have the license, ID, etc…. Then off to the sanctuary to be married!

And that is where it started……..

The preacher continually calls The Hubby by the wrong name. He also seems to have trouble holding onto the Bible and drops it on The Hubby’s feet several times.

Meanwhile, I am a blubbering idiot that forgot to wear waterproof mascara… Yeah, it wasn’t pretty! Thankfully the preacher gave me his handkerchief (which I still have).

Finally we are MARRIED!!! YIPPPEEE!! WOOOOO HOOOO!!!

Now, off to the preacher’s office to sign the marriage certificate…. if the preacher can find a pen that works…. and if he doesn’t fall trying to sit down in his chair ….. and if he can get the seal thingy to work properly…..

But it all worked out in the end and we were properly married without the warring factions, ummmmm stressful relatives…..

I won’t say that 20 years have been easy, both The Hubby and I are stubborn people.  Every little issue will pass, you just have to stick it out. Don’t argue about money, life is too short and money comes and goes. Check your ego and pride at the door, not every little thing is about you. Basically, treat your spouse in the manner you wish to be treated even when angry. Never say anything hurtful because the anger will leave but the words will still echo.

PLEASE go visit all the other lovely bloggers!! I promise you won’t be sorry! ;)

My subject -

What is the funniest thing you have ever heard?

It was submitted by    http://happy-little-feet.blogspot.ca/

Oh, boy…. Now that is a TOUGH one!!!! With 5 kids I have heard some FUNNNNNY things. LOL  So, may instead of the funniest I will just name a few of them. I’m not sure I could pick just one! LOL

1- When The Hubby and I were newly married we lived with my father-in-law. One night after they had both gone to sleep, The Hubby starts mumbling…. Hee hee hee… I LOVE to mess with him when he’s sleep talking. ;) Here’s how it went down-

The Hubby – He won’t let me in!

Me –  Who won’t let you in?

The Hubby – The little green man.

Me- Why won’t he let you on?

The Hubby – Because I’m too old…. Look! There he goes! Under the table!

Father-in-law in the next room ALSO asleep – That’s OK! We’ll get him!

OMGosh! I had tears streaming down my face from laughing so hard! Neither of them believed me the next morning, or so they said…..

2- On our way to Georgia last week, I would list the states and how far to the next one. Colin pipes up and says, “So when will we be in South America??”

3- When Deanna was about 8 yrs old she and her friends were invited to a surprise party for another friend. Well, one if the girls accidentally mentioned it to the Birthday girl. Deanna comes home and says, “Yep, Chynna really let the cat out of the house!”

4- One day when Cailey was about 2 I found her in the kitchen sitting on a bowl with an egg in it. When asked what she was doing, she replied, “I’m trying to hatch it!”

5- One day when Jacob was about 10, he and Joshua (8) were playing video games. Jacob says to Joshua, “Oooh! Look at those acid reflexes! I’m moving so fast only your eyes can see me!” ROFLMBO!! He still hates it when I bring that up! LOL

Now that I have given you some funny things that I have heard, here are some funnies that I have SEEN! ;)
